Meet Rizwan Asad

Home-cooked meals and desserts with an international influence.

When did you start publishing, and what inspired you to create your site?

I started publishing Chocolates & Chai in 2015 as a way to share recipes with friends and family around the world.

What do you love most about being an independent publisher/running your own business?

I love owning my content and being able to share helpful recipes with my readers.

Do you have a team? How many people work with you on this site?

Chocolates & Chai is just me!

What can you tell us about interacting with your audience?

It‘s always wonderful to hear about how my recipes are a part of people‘s lives. A reader wrote to me saying that her grandson refuses to eat any pancakes other than the ones that come from my site! Visiting my blog is a weekend activity for the two of them!

How does advertising impact your business?

Massively. It‘s the only major monetization I do and, therefore, is a huge part of what allows me to keep the business running.

What else should we know about your site?

Chocolates & Chai was the Readers‘ Choice finalist at the 2017 SAVEUR Blog Awards for the Best Baking & Sweets Blog.
